I’ve been thinking about the way I create, what kind of artist do I want to be? I decided awhile ago I didn’t want to be a master, I don’t want to master a medium, I want to explore, I want ideas to shape the mediums I use, I didn’t want mastery to limit my creativity. I want to write, paint, carve, sculpt, cartoon, design, make games or anything I become obsessed with.

When I create work it is an experiment, an idea, sometimes the idea has been with me so long that the artwork is made complete, sometimes I am exploring ideas by making the art and when it is done and exhibited it is still revealing itself to me and I want to iterate on it. I struggled with this because, I had an idea that once something is exhibited you can’t change it, maybe that is true, I don’t know but I decided I would create the way I want to create.

Each piece in this exhibition was once something else, some literally, some metaphorically.
