MKG127 is very pleased to present in MKG127’s Front Space,
I Love Coming Home, an exhibition of new work by Marc Hundley.
“Coming home, from home. I have now lived in New York for the same amount of time I’ve lived in Canada and saying it’s my home away from home has been making me think about coming back home, and my intimate experience with the place I come from.”
Marc Hundley uses silkscreening, stencilling and typography techniques to produce poetic text-based posters, books, t-shirts and postcards. His texts are personal and imaginative, displaying private moments and thoughts on public prints, such as concert and exhibition posters. Inspirations for the exhibition include time spent at a cabin on Bray Lake, Ontario and the writings of Canadian poet, P.K. Page.
I Love Coming Home is indeed a homecoming for Marc Hundley. Born and raised in Canada, Hundley has lived in New York since 1993. Although he has shown in New York, Los Angeles, Switzerland, France, the UK and Australia, this is his first exhibition in Canada. Celebrities including Rihanna & Lil Wayne have been photographed wearing his t-shirts. Marc Hundley is represented by Team Gallery in New York and has work in the collection of the Whitney Museum.
