The Bill Burns Show

MKG127 is pleased to present The Bill Burns Show,
the second solo exhibition at MKG127 by Toronto based artist, Bill Burns.

November 20 - December 23, 2010

Hans Ulrich Obrist, Larry Gagosian, Nicolas Serota and Iwona Blazwich feature prominently in The Bill Burns Show. The show continues an exploration of the names of art world luminaries that the artist has been producing for many years. Exquisite watercolours illustrate the artistís life, his connection to celebrities and the plants and animals he has known.

In addition to the watercolours the show includes Bill Burnsí classic Monogrammed Work Gloves, Hand Carved Logs as well as the Greater Proving Machine no 1. The artist will demonstrate how to carve the names of art world celebrities into logs during the course of the Bill Burns Show.

In the past year his work was featured with Superflex and the Icelandic Love Corporation in Rethink Kakotopia at the Kunsthallen Nikolaj in Copenhagen and Tensta Konsthall in Stockholm. Ars Baltica named the exhibition the 2010 Nordic Exhibition of the Year.

Billís books and writings have been published widely including by the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the KW in Berlin. Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther KŲnig in Cologne will publish his new trilogy entitled, Three Books and a CD about Plants and Animals and War, later this year.
