In MKG127‘s front space, Sylvia Matas presents her project, vast, constant, irreversible, a series of twelve pages of embossed text. Each page points to objects, sensations and situations. Like all of these things hovering between appearance and disappearance, the words fade in and out of view while observed.

Sylvia Matas is an interdisciplinary artist from Winnipeg, Canada. She received a BFA from the University of Manitoba in 2003 and an MFA from the Chelsea College of Art & Design in London, England in 2008. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently at The Winnipeg Art Gallery and Plug In ICA in Winnipeg, AKA Gallery in Saskatoon, Útúrdúr in Reykjavik, and the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery in Toronto.
