In Things Change, Walker continues her exploration of line, geometry and pattern. She begins with a set of formal structures and introduces an element of chance as a creative tool. The works in Things Change are rooted in her interest in process and share an approach that links drawing and sculpture.
Joy Walker is a Toronto-based artist, textile designer and sometimes curator. Her concurrent exhibitions include, Fade to Black, a solo exhibition at Rodman Hall, St. Catharines, ON, until Jan 5, 2014, and two group shows: Between The Lines, at Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, until Dec 29, 2013, and More Than Two (Let It Make Itself), at The Power Plant, Toronto until Jan 5, 2014. Walker’s work is included in several private and public collections. This is her third solo exhibition at MKG127.
